Deshaun or Tua?

Trade the house for Deshaun or select Tua

Tis the Season for draft talk, mock drafts and the official NFL draft today, Thursday, April 23, 2020.  While the times we’re in are uncertain, we are all looking for some type of normalcy and connection to the things we love.  If you don’t know, football is my first love and while I have the time, I’ve been able to submerge myself in all the projections and draft talk going on. Even though, the start of the season may be in question, the draft will still take place...virtually.

Ok - let’s LACEUP…

Listen, I know it’s a miracle, a wish and prayer that it’s even an option, but it really should be considered, while it may not be as farfetched as we think. Watson, apparently is not happy in Houston anymore, and we haven’t seen any moves coming from south Texas to get any better. However, we have seen a few progressive moves from south Florida, and we in Dolphin-country, are long overdue for something from under center that will give us life again.  I mean, do I even need to say look at what Tampa Bay is doing. OMG! Sorry, let me leave north Florida and focus back on the south. LOL.

So, do the Dolphins trade for Watson?

Yes! A thousand times YES!! As matter of fact, do whatever you need to do to get the man! WHY?? There are so many reasons why; however, I would like to zoom in on three major things.

1) Deshaun is ALREADY a proven QB in the NFL (and only 24 years old). He is a PRO BOWL QB that already leads, continues to develop, and is improving every year.  He’s a QB that can come in to the tax free state of Florida, and make an immediate impact. It’s clear the Dolphins want a QB they can build around and have a future with, hence the interest in Tua; however, we don’t have time for Tua to heal, learn this level play, adjust to the speed, be shocked by the SOFLO media and resist…”South Beach”.

2) Rushing! Deshaun isn’t a stay in the pocket type of QB and everyone knows if you want to be a successful new generation quarter back in the NFL you must run the ball and score; it’s the new age QB.  Just ask both the 2020 Super Bowl MVP and the 2020 League MVP… We can debate stats all day; however, let’s focus on RUSHING. Deshaun had 1,934 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns throughout his 3 years in Clemson – and his last year before transitioning into the NFL ended in a National Championship; Tua had only 340 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns throughout his 3 years in college – and his last year before transitioning into the NFL ended in watching the National Championship.  Need I say more?

3) The eye-test! I’ve watched Deshaun over the years, in college and the NFL and there’s just something about his passion for the game and his WILL to win that screams Super Bowl Champ. He plays like he has something to prove week-after-week and will do anything to win – even in week 1. He clearly has what some call the “IT” factor, which some say is an innate ability to rise above the crowd and stay there. You can’t quite put “IT” into more words than that, but Deshawn certainly has IT and ITS only rising higher.

Look…

Nothing against Tua at all, I’m sure he will do fine in the NFL; however, he hasn’t proven anything other than the fact that he hasn’t been able to win a championship without Hurts, his injury is also a major concern for me, I’m not confident in his WILL, he isn’t as diverse a player as people think, and I just don’t trust many youngsters with BIG names coming into this “South Beach” market...

Do we even need to talk about how Jalen had to come in and save the day for Alabama? I’ll save that for some of your responses…

What are your thoughts?
